Organizations
Reducing and eventually halting child mortality cannot be done by just one person or one organization. Like goal number eight, achieve a global partnership for development, the rich and poor countries have to work together to reduce child mortality.
UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, is dedicated to helping children all over the world. Their work brings clean water and sanitation, offers free vaccinations against childhood illnesses, fights malnutrition and hunger, protects children from abuse, gives free education, and cares for children suffering from AIDS or suffering as a result of AIDS. They stand by the belief that every child deserves to lead a healthy, humane, and dignified life.
Besides UNICEF, there are many other organizations that raise money to assist children and save lives. These include World Vision, Children International, Save the Children, and hundreds more.
